Why should a person eat healthy instead of unhealthy?
Some people think that it does not matter they will die when their time is up no sooner. A person’s life is much better to be healthy instead of unhealthy. A person lives longer without health problems eating healthy. People have many misconceptions of healthy living. A person has a variety of healthy foods he or she can eat to remain healthy. Eating healthy is what a person needs to be healthy not just being skinny because that does not always mean a healthy person.
Many people believe that they are healthy just because they are skinny. Just because a person is skinny does not make him/her healthy. Being healthy consist of eating the correct food for a person’s body. People can eat different type of food to remain healthy.
The food pyramid outlines foods a person can eat to remain healthy. A person needs different types of food to be healthy. A person can eat red meats and in moderation. A person needs to have one to two servings of dairy products a day. Nuts, seeds, fish, and poultry come next on the food chain as healthy. The healthiest to eat are vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and certain fats like olive oil. A person can eat healthy just by watching the amount of certain foods he or she take in and the types of foods a person eats.

Eating a variety of foods can prevent boredom when eating healthy. Not only are there different healthy vegetables one also needs to choose a healthy meat to eat.
The different types of meat that is healthy for a person is white meat. Different types of white meat consist of chicken, fish, and even turkey. These types of meat can be very tasty when prepared correctly and do not have the fats found in red meats. Even though red meats are the most common meat, they are not healthy for the body.
The most common red meat is beef. Some other unhealthy red meats are lamb and pork sausage. People who eat these meats are more prone to developing more heart problems. The fats in red meats cause the arteries to clog, which causes heart attacks and strokes. Red meats are not the only common food that a person needs to stay away from.
People believe that sugar substitutes are a better version than sugar for them, although this is not true. A sugar substitute does not register in a person’s brain, which causes the brain to tell a person’s body one needs the carbohydrates. Everyone needs a certain amount of carbohydrates for a person’s body. Even though a person thinks sugar substitutes are better, sugar substitutes are not. The extra calories added when the body tells the person it needs the carbohydrates, which will add pounds, which is unhealthy for the person’s body. When the body has too many pounds from the extra calories from extra simple carbohydrates it stores complex carbohydrates in the body, which people need to stay away from some complex carbohydrates.
Fat that one need to stay away from is ones solid in room temperature. One reason to stay away from solid fat is they allow cholesterol to collect in the arteries. Some healthy fat can be found in olive oil and fish oil. The correct fat can be beneficial to the body in many ways though.
Several parts of the body need fat to function. The body burns fat by using a person’s metabolism. While burning energy the body uses fat. A person burns energy without realizing it by using the organs in a person’s body. A person’s heart pumping blood to the other organs is using energy. When one is thinking a person is using energy. A person’s body uses energy every day in several ways. This is the reason it is so important to eat healthy to improve a person’s energy level each day.
Eating healthy can benefit a person in a person’s energy level. When a person eats healthy, he or she has more energy each day. With more energy a person can do more daily activities. They will be able to go to the grocery store or even play with their children at the park without losing their breath from the exercise. Eating healthy has many benefits; however, there are also effects to eating unhealthy, like obesity.
When a person is obese, he or she is carrying extra weight that can also cause arthritis in a person’s bone joints as well as pressure on a person’s heart. When a person’s diet consists of too much sugar it can cause tooth decay and cavities. Unhealthy eating can also cause problems with a person’s digestive track, like constipation, ulcers, and indigestion. Also it causes fatigue to the point in which a person does not want to do anything other than set on the couch and watch television all day, which causes more health problems. One of the most common health problems associated with obesity is heart problems.

As the coronary arteries narrow, it causes chest pain, which is a sign of a heart attack. If the arteries stop the flow of blood to a person’s heart this causes a heart attack, which could cause death. Another problem associated with obesity is high cholesterol.
High cholesterol causes many effects to the human body. People with high cholesterol could have a heart attack or stroke. One needs to have good HDL cholesterol in their body to keep the bad LDL cholesterol flowing freely through a person’s arteries to prevent clogging. Blood can flow easily through clear arteries rather than arteries packed with LDL cholesterol. One needs less than 100 mg of LDL cholesterol level and more than 60 mg of HDL cholesterol level to have a balanced cholesterol level in their body. Another danger of not eating healthy besides high cholesterol is diabetes.
People with obesity raise their chances of diabetes. In diabetes the body does not produce enough insulin to allow a person’s cells to receive glucose for energy. Without proper insulin glucose stays in a person’s blood, which causes a person’s glucose level to be too high. Diabetes can harm a body by causing fatigue, frequent urination, extreme thirst, weight loss, and vision problems.
Can a person eat healthy and live without many health problems? By eating and following the food pyramid a person can live a long and healthy life. Knowing the effects of not eating healthy and the benefits of eating healthy throughout a person’s life is important. When a person is healthy, he or she lives a more productive and enjoyable life as opposed to a person who does not eat healthy. A person would not have as many health problems by eating healthy. By eating healthy a person will be able to do more activities with a person’s friends and loved ones.
