The sudden and unexpected death of an infant less than one year is termed sudden unexpected infant death (SUID). There are two common causes for SUID one is termed Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) which is the unexplainable death. The second cause is what is called accidental suffocation and strangulation.
